Thank You

Liu Feng had the same thought. He also didn’t want Yao Tang to be accepted as a disciple by Elder Chen.

Wouldn’t this mean that Yao Tang would be bothered by more seniors?

Elder Chen wanted to say something else, but upon seeing the looks on their faces, he quickly stopped himself. He took a look at the other disciples and saw that they were also looking the same way.

Seeing this, Elder Xu decided to take matters into his own hands. The last thing he wanted was for the elder to prod even further.

“Why don’t you buy some for the String Pavilion? You can send them over once you’ve finished your medical assessment. There’s really no need to rush for Yao Tang’s gift. We’ll talk about it more when the time comes.”

As soon as he said this, Elder Chen slowly nodded.

If it wasn’t for the String Pavilion, his disciple wouldn’t have been rescued in time. It was only fair that he expressed his sincerity.

But what should he buy?

Yao Tang quickly vanished from his thoughts as he followed Xiao Liu into the car. He didn’t dwell on her prospective teachers any further.

Seeing that he was finally willing to leave, the other leaders sighed in relief.

This was for the best!

After Elder Chen got in the car, he went to the Central Hospital to get his blood work done. After this, he went out to the mall to pick out some gifts. He settled with a high-quality clay tea set and prepared to set out for the String Pavilion.

While a part of him also didn’t want to go and face them, he knew that there was only little he could do about this. After all, he still needed to thank them.

As soon as the car stopped at the front gates of the String Pavilion, two disciples quickly came up to them. When they learned of the figure inside the car, they reported it to the authorities of the String Pavilion.

Soon, Jiang Yu walked toward the door with a wooden fan in hand.

He had a wide smile on his face.

In the past years, the Inner Pavilion had come often, especially when they were still up and coming. However, in the much recent years to come, the Elders tend to avoid the String Pavilion as much as possible, disliking the association. They also didn’t get along with their members.

That was something everyone in the Association knew.

The String Pavilion, on the other hand, despised how the people of the Inner Pavilion were arrogant and self-centered.

The two Pavilions have always stood toe-to-toe against each other. It was why Elder Chen’s sudden visit caught all of them off guard.

Elder Chen was escorted into the hall by Jiang Yu and his other disciples.

There, on the tea table was Biluochun Tea, the famous green tea in the mountain regions of China. It was especially hard to acquire this at this time of the year.

The fragrance wafted across him, and Elder Chen took a deep breath. The String Pavilion truly was splendid. Not only was this the richest among the other associations, but the way they live was nothing short of luxurious.

He glanced around to see that the seats in the hall were made of high-class mahogany.

Even the table was constructed from jade.

The teacup placed in the center was made of exquisite porcelain. While Elder Chen couldn’t recognize which porcelain was used, he knew that this wasn’t an ordinary item.

Even the fan he was holding was encrusted with jade and rubies.

He was very rich!

Elder Chen sighed. However, as he looked around, he realized that he was only meeting Jiang Yu, and not the other elders belonging to the sect.

The man sagged his shoulders in relief as he relaxed in his seat.

If he had to face the other elders alone, he wouldn’t know what to do. The thought of meeting the Pavilion’s Elder Huang was enough to make him groan in frustration.

Grand Elder Huang always had the worst temper. When things don’t go his way, he’d throw a fit and chuck his guests right out the door.

Every time, he’d meet with Elder Wang, the two would just bicker to no end. It always ended with one asking the other to leave their sights.

Knowing that he was only being greeted by one elder made him more comfortable with his surroundings.

A small smile slipped into his lips. “I’ve come here to thank you for your help. If it wasn’t for your assistance, we wouldn’t have returned so quickly. Please accept my gifts.”

As he finished speaking, he slowly pushed the boxes over.

That’s right.

If it wasn’t for the String Pavilion’s help, he wouldn’t know what would’ve happened. His own disciple would’ve been tortured by the hands of the Green Cloud Pavilion.

It was why he wanted to thank Jiang Yu in person.

Even if they didn’t have a good relationship, he certainly knew how to say his thanks. He would definitely repay the kindness that was shown to him.

When he said this, Jiang Yu felt strange.

He stopped waving his fan, and asked, “What are you thanking me for? You came back alive, didn’t you? You’d have no need of it. I…how did you know about the land I’ve bought for you to be buried in?”
