At night, Dean was sitting relaxed on the front porch of the house. He looked at the moon which was shining quite brightly, only a few stars seemed to shine around the lonely moon. The man was silent in longing for his family and the atmosphere at home.
Dean remembers, at night, he usually spends time with his kids and wife by watching TV, sometimes chatting with the bodyguards, sometimes also working late in the workspace.
"Jil..maybe you are willing to live hard with me if I come and invite you to live in simplicity? Because I don't want to enjoy your father's wealth." Dean monologued with himself. He is considering Mike's advice, suggesting to be in the field of athletes, living in peace with his wife and kids.
"Dean," someone called.
Dean turned and looked at Niko who came up to him then sat beside him. "You have not slept?"
"I can't sleep," Niko said nervously, then glanced at Dean. "I thought about your fate."
Dean smirked at Niko, then looked back at the moon and said, "There's no point in thinking about my fate. I just don't know what to do now."
"What if I throw you out? Will you choose to find a new place to live, or go back to your wife?" asked Niko.
"I will go to my wife's house, then invite her to live a simple life in peace but if she doesn't, I can do nothing but let her live her choice," Dean replied angrily. His mouth said easily, but his heart ached at the thought of Bryana wasn't like Clarissa who was willing to live with him in simplicity.
"Are you sure?" Nico asked.
Dean fell silent and bent his face, patting the mosquito that was perched on his hairy calves. "Yeah... I don't want to live in the riches of the people who have caused havoc in my past. I will continue to feel guilty and unfair to my late wife. This may sound unimportant since I'm thinking about justice for the dead, but that's how it is. I can't afford to be happy above her suffering just yet."
"In the past, Clarissa and I lived in simplicity, it felt so peaceful even though her father was a rich man, but she chose to stay with me because of love and comfort. But God took her too quickly through an event caused by Bryana's father. It's not fair that now I'm happy with Bryana under the rule of her father who also made a fool of me!" Dean confirmed with his still hurting heart that both Stevan and Raymond had not been honest with him.
Niko sighed, staring at the lonely-looking moon. "Dean, living alone, away from a big family is comfortable. But one day you will feel sorry, longing for togetherness. That's what your wife will feel if you keep her away from her family just because of your hatred for them. She will not always be happy as long as you are by your side. "
Dean was silent, remembering Clarissa who also often met her mother alone without her company because he didn't get along with Gustave. He confirmed what Niko had said as if making him realize that Bryana wouldn't be happy just being with him.
Niko glanced at Dean who was contemplating his words, then said, "Why do you bring up the past that only makes you sink in a wound? Look at your future. in this day and age, where there is a woman so beautiful and rich like Bryana who sincerely loves you even though you have nothing. You should be grateful for her love, not even make her miserable away from her family.""It's hard. I love her, but I hate her father..her father killed my daughter's mother!" Dean was still in a dilemma.
"And now your daughter loves Bryana very much, right? She considers Bryana as her biological mother and even Bryana also loves her like her biological daughter. I've seen on Instagram a lot of portraits of them together. Whose name is Stevan is wrong, but his daughter has replaced Clarissa's position very well, you must throw away your hatred, accept this fact because this is the destiny that God has outlined for you!" Niko insisted, glaring at the kind but stubborn and selfish Dean. He was fed up, got up, and left Dean who was contemplating.
___
In her room, Bryana sat huddled on the floor in the walk-in closet, clutching Dean's Bodyguard shirt. she wept bitterly because she missed her husband so much. On each side of the room, she seemed to see the shadow of every intimate moment with her husband.
"Dean, why don't you come back? Do you forget your promise, don't you remember me, don't you remember that I'm pregnant with your child?" Bryana started to get emotional and her tears became unbearable. All-day being outside the house did feel comfortable for her, but when she came home, she couldn't help but feel annoyed, lonely, and longed that hit her heart.
Bryana got up, then walked out to the dressing table. Her breath caught when she saw the lipstick on the glass that was Dean's last message.
"You say you love me it's all fake. FAKE! YOU'RE A LIE, DEAN. I HATE YOU!" Bryana shouted while staring hatefully at the glass then grabbed her wedding photo which was hung on the wall not too high, then threw it at the glass.
PRACKKK!!!
Makeup mirrors and photo frames were shattered and scattered on the floor. Bryana sighed in tears, then leaned her body against the wall until she slowly sat on the floor while crying, ruffling her hair in frustration at the incurable longing
___
Monica, Lily, and some of the residents of the house who heard the noise in Bryana's room immediately walked to the room, then entered because the door was not locked.
Monica and the others saw Bryana who was sitting on the floor crying.
"Bryana!" Lily immediately approached her daughter-in-law who was crying and then hugged her.
"Dean is bad, Mom! He broke all his promises," said Bryana in sobs.Monica asked Susan and the others to clean up the broken glass, then she went over to Bryana and Lily. She looked pityingly at her sister-in-law, who was not so upset this afternoon, but now got angry.
"Dear, if Dean doesn't come back tonight, mom promised to find him and persuade him to come back here. Now calm down," Lily said patiently as she stroked Bryana's hair. she felt guilty that her daughter-in-law had suffered so much because of her son.
'Dean is outrageous. He doesn't even care about Sofia at all!' She thought annoyed then let go of his arms on Bryana and immediately stood up to look at Monica.
"Monica, please take care of her. I have to go now," she said.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Come out for a minute," Lily replied then walked out of the room.
Monica approached Bryana and invited her to move to sit on the edge of the bed. "Bryana. Please control yourself. this is hard but you have to be strong, hold on, soon dad will arrive and meet Dean, bring him back to you," she said patiently.
"If he doesn't come back because of the sincere intentions in his heart, I don't want to see him!" cried Bryana with a look full of anger.
"Don't say that, he's the father of your child," Monica said.
"Who cares? He leaves so easily without thinking about his responsibilities as a husband, just for the sake of the past that has passed! I even hate this fact, I hate that I hate the fact that Clarissa is my cousin but I never got a chance to meet her. This hurts so much, Monica!" Bryana's emotions were out of control. She got out of bed and looked annoyed at Monica and Susan who were cleaning up the broken glass with the other maids.
"Now you go! I don't need pity!" cried Bryana harshly.
"Bryana...." Monica didn't have time to finish saying because Bryana immediately kicked her out.
"Go, Monica. I want to be alone!" Bryana exclaimed, pointing at the open door.
"I'll go, but promise not to be reckless," Monica pleaded with a pleading look.
"I'm not going to kill myself because of him. Go!" Bryana shouted with a look full of anger.
Monica immediately invited Susan and the other maids who had not finished cleaning up the broken glass to leave the room immediately.
