Chapter 493: Rigged Tournament
"Sounds typical for a rigged tournament."
Miaomiao was indifferent as he was confident in his wives. Each woman had their trump cards, and they were as strong as a protagonist-in-training.
The women also weren't afraid of the gamble. Instead, they got excited.
"That won't be a problem."
"Are you sure?" Uriel was worried about the women since most cultivators weren't gentlemen. They would ravish any woman they could take advantage of on the spot if they had an opportunity.
"What else, senior?" Wei Yuan changed the subject.
"That's all I know. The rules can still be changed if that swan feels like it."
The group sighed in relief as they had no more questions.
But Zhou Gongjin suddenly raised his hand.
"What will I get if we win the tournament?"
"You get to ask one that swan for one wish. It can be anything, such as higher realm's artifacts or divine-grade cultivation method."
"What if I want something else?"
"Give me an example."
"I want an ancient bloodline that no longer exists in all realms, the Beelzebub Bloodline!"
Azazel and the Qiongqi cub squinted their eyes. This Bloodline was not something a mortal should know.
"How did you come to know about this bloodline?"
"A Primordial Qiongqi imparted his memory into me."
"…"
Uriel turned to Miaomiao as he pondered something. Azazel also glared at Zhou Gongjin as he held something as valuable as Miaomiao's incomplete Asmodeus Bloodline.
Two mortals with the incomplete bloodlines of Primordial Demons were here, and they could potentially dominate the Heaven Realm if they were to complete their collections of incomplete bloodlines.
This might turn into a race competition between Miaomiao and Zhou Gongjin in the future. The one who could complete the bloodline first would be the King and the loser might either perish or surrender to the victor.
Uriel and Azazel immediately reported their finding to Macho Joshua and the Devil right away. They were quiet for a minute.
The silence made Zhou Gongjin nervous. He regretted that he revealed his desire too soon.
Uriel got the instruction from his superiors. He waved his hand and dismissed the matter.
"That's an impossible wish. You must not ask that swan about this, or your life will be forever in peril. Also, don't disclose about your bloodline to anyone, you hear?"
Zhou Gongjin nodded and cupped his fist, "Yes, senior. But, is it really an impossible wish?"
"Even I don't have enough power to resurrect the Beelzebub Bloodline. You will have to search for the clue yourself. Of course, you must do it in secret, or you will implicate your family and friends."
"…"
Uriel then ordered everybody to rest and forbid Miaomiao from having sex, which saddened Miaomiao's wives.
On the other hand, Meowmeow and Dian Wei had a staring contest as they seemed to be interested in each other's body parts. After everybody was about to return to their room to rest, they asked Miaomiao in unison.
"Can I eat this spider, Munya?"
"Can I eat this cat, Husband?"
"…"
Miaomiao put Meowmeow in Isolation Training Space to avoid trouble. Then, he sank his consciousness in the space to warm up for tomorrow's fights.
…
= The Next Day =
As scheduled, two thousand representatives gathered at the massive floating island, located at the north of the Holy Land Continent.
At the center of the island, four silver pylon towers stood tall and emitted dense Life Essence in the air.
Miaomiao and others flew toward the flying island in the sky. On the way there, they also saw over a hundred short pylon towers, giving out faint Life Essence to the area nearby.
However, compared to Siren City, the quantity of Life Essence was thinner, and no spring water leaked out from the pylon towers here.
Seeing the difference in the quality of towers, the group stopped looking around and proceeded to the grand stage.
The massive flying island was as large as the Texas State, and the arena covered half of the space. Tall apartments were reserved as contestants' resting quarters while a few luxurious hotels were reserved for VIPs and immortals.
Still, not many people lingered outside the arena. They already entered the massive stadium yesterday, reserving their best seats.
Fortunately, Miaomiao and his group were with Uriel. The swan had already reserved a place for them to spectate the event.
An immortal came out to welcome Uriel and guided everyone to their Box Seats. As for the contestants, they were guided to different locker rooms.
Wei Yuan, Kang Yan, Ma Xingjuan, Lai Wen, Dian Wei, Ju Shoufen, and Mao Xueyan entered a locker room while the other men rested in the other room.
Miaomiao was asked to wait in the other room, where all Clan Lord Tournament contestants were supposed to gather and meet each other. Uriel and Azazel also followed Miaomiao to the banquet hall as his guardians.
As soon as Miaomiao got to the banquet, he found a hundred old men, fifty middle-aged men, a handful of graceful women, a dozen old women, and a few young men. Their cultivation base was either 8th-stage or 9th-stage. Five of them had a similar aura as an immortal, but their essence and presence weren't the same.
Four men and one beautiful maiden's strength had already reached the half-step immortal. They only needed a little push to ascend!
The competitors of Miaomiao looked powerful and intimidating!
Each clan lord came with two followers. However, all their followers were immortals!
The immortals only briefly glanced at Miaomiao before they saluted to Uriel and Azazel. Only a couple of them raised their eyebrows and took out their jade phones to snap a picture of Miaomiao. Then, they giggled as if they recognized the DaoTube Star.
Yet, Miaomiao only pursed his lips. He ignored their aura and walked toward his seat, which had been prepared yesterday.
While entering the hall, everybody stared at him, squinting their eyes in bemusement. They sized him up and discovered his cultivation base.
The majority of them sneered at Miaomiao. As for the rest, they ignored him.
Still, ten clan lords glanced at Uriel and Azazel for a moment. Then, they gazed at Miaomiao again before they smirked.
Nobody knew what they had been thinking, but it might not be pleasant.
As soon as Miaomiao sat, the host of this banquet picked a microphone at the front stage, "Esteemed guests from prestigious clans and sects, please welcome the representative of the Aves Continent, Mao Miaomiao."
The announcer immediately retreated after he introduced Miaomiao to the people here.
The crowd was in silence. Nobody bothered to greet Miaomiao even though he was accompanied by two deities. Still, they didn't comment on Miaomiao's low cultivation base.
Miaomiao got to enjoy his solitary banquet by himself. Uriel and Azazel only stood behind him and gazed forward.
Thirty minutes later, the tournament opening ceremony began. At the center of the stadium, the performers of the Holy Land Continent paraded and danced as if they were in an Olympic Opening Event.
The clan lords stopped eating and drinking. They walked toward the long tinted windows, watching the show with interest.
Miaomiao was used to this kind of event. He didn't bother looking at it and secretly storing good alcohol, spirit wine, and delicious sauces into his spatial rings. He also grabbed a few pieces of unknown red meat and tossed them into his system inventory, planning to share them with Meowmeow.
After an hour of the useless opening ceremony, the stage was cleared, and the tournament host, the Swan Goddess, hovered at the center of the stadium stage.
She was in her human form. However, instead of appearing as a fat middle-aged lady, she transformed into a sexy woman with a huge rack. She even wore s short Qipao miniskirt with opened back and belly, revealing a lot of skin.
The spectating crowd whistled, admiring the Swan Goddess.
Karen announced, "Fellow Daoists, Immortals, demons, lurkers, and whatever the creature you are, welcome to the Holy Land!"
The spectators cheered and clapped their hands.
YEAH!
Karen continued, "We have been waiting for decades for this tournament… But wait no more! THE DAY IS HERE!"
The crowd cheered again.
YEAH!
"This round of Holy Land Tournament has been delayed for many reasons, but I believe no one here cares about that. Let's get started right away, shall we?"
YEAH!
"A total of 2,073 contestants from 170 clans around the world. Many come from prestigious families and backgrounds while many are self-made men. Well, statuses make no difference here in this tournament. After all, it's the strength and profound skills that we want to see."
YEAH!
"The minimum requirement for entering this year's tournament is quite tough as well. The strength of our contestants is between the 7th-stage to the half-step immortal stage."
YEAH!
"Oh, excuse me. Except for one person…"
The crowd stopped chanting and listened to Karen.
"As you all know, after this tournament concludes, there will be ANOTHER tournament! Do you remember what this tournament is?"
YEAH!
"IT'S THE GREAT CLAN TOURNAMENT! WE SHALL DECIDE WHICH CLAN WILL BECOME THE SEVEN GREAT CLANS IN THE FUTURE!"
YEAAAAAAH!
"Unfortunately, one of the clan leaders is someone from a lowborn family. He is only a 6th-stage cultivator."
BOOOOOOOO!
"To make things worse, he gets here because of his connections with the deities!"
BOOOOOOOO!
"Do you think it's fair for him to enter this prestigious tournament along with our top fighters?"
NO!
BOOOOOOOO!
Miaomiao, who had been unintentionally listening to the commotion, deeply exhaled. As he had thought, the Swan Goddess didn't like him.
Azazel also looked around, glaring at anyone who met her eyes. All immortals in the room averted their eyes, trying not to provoke her.
Uriel stood still, enduring the insult.
Karen continued with her announcement, "Therefore, aside from the "NORMAL" 2,073 contestants for the first tournament, we shall add the UNWORTHY CLAN LORD to the list! He must first prove that he is worthy to participate in the biggest league of our world!"
YEAAAAAAAAH!
"…"
Miaomiao squinted his eyes. Karen rigged the tournament against him.
Now, he had to participate in both tournaments!
"Of course, it would have been rude if we only mentioned him and not invited him to prove himself here. How about it, Mao Miaomiao? Will you join us as the opener of my tournament? Will you grace us with your… puny presence of a golden spoon man-whore? Are you only good at selling your asshole to the gods?"
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
The crowd laughed and jeered at Miaomiao, whom they hadn't even met.
Miaomiao rubbed his glabella. This goddess started to get on his nerve.
He stood up and walked toward the window. Uriel followed him while Azazel rushed toward a window and break it with her fist.
One of the windows was shattered, opening a path for Miaomiao to enter the stage through the shortcut.
Miaomiao nonchalantly flew toward the center of the arena. He crossed his arms behind his back and yawned.
Uriel and Azazel didn't follow after him. They only remained there in the VIP Box Room.
As soon as Miaomiao got to the arena, Karen smirked and erected four rainbow energy walls around the stage. Then, she opened a red portal.
"I forgot to mention. As the opening match of this tournament, I have chosen the best possible opponent for you, Mao Miaomiao. Come out, you fat orc!"
A fat man walked out of the red portal. His aura was similar to Huang Hansheng, but he seemed a bit weaker.
A young master from the Great Liu Clan emitted the aura of an early 9th-stage cultivator. His face was covered by a skull mask, but he didn't wear anything down below. His long dong was dangling freely, dripping sticky white liquid as if he had just had sex.
Liu Yan grumbled as he scratched his jiggling butt. He gazed at Karen and complained, "I thought my match would be in the afternoon."
"A change of schedule, Lord Liu Yan. You will have to fight this man and prove that he isn't worthy to join the Great Clan Tournament that your father will be joining."
"Oh?"
"Another note, he has over 20 beautiful wives. You know what to do."
"AHA!"
Liu Yan burst into laughter. He turned to Miaomiao and slowly took off his skull mask, revealing the face of an ugly Asian man, riddled with zits and black dots.
"Same rules, right? You keep what you kill!" Liu Yan confirmed the rules with Karen. His dangling meat stood up in excitement.
The Swan Goddess nodded, "Yes. This also applies to personal assets, wives, children, subordinates, and the likes. The loser will have to surrender everything to the winner!"
"HAHAHAHA! This will be easy!" Liu Yan sneered at Miaomiao, whose cultivation base was three realms lower than him. He licked his lips.
…
While Karen and Liu Yan were opening planning to kill him, Miaomiao received a sudden quest.
Ding
[You have received a quest from Devil.]
[Protagonist Hunt: Kill Liu Yan, a Transmigrated Protagonist!]
"Ho-hoh? A protagonist? Why am I feeling that he's no more than a cannon fodder or my EXP at this point?"
