Additional Compensation

Even though Situ Zhong did not find what he was looking for, he did not let the opportunity slip by when he saw something of value.

And thus, by saying this, the old man made it impossible for Situ Zhong to just leave.

Situ Zhong’s expression was incredibly embarrassed. Originally, even if he couldn’t locate the piece of vellum, the antiques and valuables scavenged inside the Xie family manor could still be sold for a lot of money.

But now, he had to return those antiques and valuables before he left.

“Are you waiting for us to help you with that?” the old man asked calmly.

“No no... I will tell my subordinates to bring those things over...” Situ Zhong stammered. He had no choice but to listen to the old man.

And thus, Situ Zhong and Zhang Xin ordered their subordinates to hand over all the things they took from inside the Xie family manor.

Box after box of antiques was placed in front of them.

They used the antique boxes and chests found inside the manor to store the other valuables they found.

Eventually, there were almost twenty boxes lined up in front of Jian Yiling.

Naturally, this wasn’t everything. If Jian Yiling and Zhai Yunsheng did not interrupt Situ Zhong, many more valuables would have been taken away.

“It’s all here,” Situ Zhong said.

“And what about the various locks and doors that you have broken? They’re all antiques. How much should they be worth?” Zhai Yunsheng questioned.

After all, the Xie family manor was built many years ago.

By asking those questions, Zhai Yunsheng wanted Situ Zhong and the others to give Jian Yiling additional compensation for the damage they caused to the manor.

Situ Zhong gritted his teeth in anger. He was very reluctant to do this. However, when he glanced at the big shots in front of him, he quickly realized that he would not be able to leave today unless he satisfied Jian Yiling’s requests. In fact, even if he somehow managed to escape this place, he still wouldn’t be able to leave Country M.

Situ Zhong looked at Zhai Yunsheng and said: “Young Master Zhai, the Nine Dragons Association has a deep relationship and connection with the Xie family. This incident was merely a misunderstanding and not something done with malicious intent. There’s no need for you to take it that far right?”

Zhai Yunsheng smiled and replied, “Perhaps your ancestors and the Xie family’s ancestors were friends in the past. However, my wife and I are not friends with you. And if you want to go by that logic, human beings came from the same ancestor tens of thousands of years ago. Must I be friends with the entire world?”

Situ Zhong and Zhang Xin were infuriated by Zhai Yunsheng’s unforgiving words.

However, as there were many big shots ready to back Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling up, they could only swallow their anger.

Situ Zhong asked Zhai Yunsheng: “Young Master Zhai, how much do you expect us to pay?”

Zhai Yunsheng: “Well, you destroyed such a historical manor. In the future, even if we want to repair it, it won’t be as good as before. This is especially the case because the Xie family ancestors left this manor for my wife. This means you not only destroyed a meaningful and historical building, but you also hurt my wife’s soul.”

Zhai Yunsheng’s ability to talk nonsense made Situ Zhong and Zhang Xin feel exasperated.

“Then how much do you want?” Situ Zhong asked.

“One hundred million.” Zhai Yunsheng replied.

“What?!” Situ Zhong exclaimed. He couldn’t help but raise his voice.

One hundred million dollars? Was Zhai Yunsheng crazy?

“If you don’t want to give us compensation, I’ll have to call the police. When they’re here, you can explain your acts of theft and trespassing to the police. So let’s see how much these valuables are worth... Do you think you will be jailed for your offense?” Zhai Yunsheng slowly said.
